Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Radiology

Under the direction of physicians licensed to possess radioactive materials, the nuclear medicine technologist utilized radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals to perform diagnostic examinations, including dynamic studies and radionuclidic imaging of organs and organ systems. These responsibilities require extensive knowledge of the field of nuclear medicine technology, including chemistry, physics, mathematics and biomedical sciences that relate to Nuclear Medicine Technology. The technologist also assists the physician in therapeutic procedures using radionuclides. Work is performed independently and reviewed by the Manager, Radiology. Assists the DMI with the coordination of staff, scheduling, and procedures in the NM sections. Assist the DMI with maintaining NM QI data, protocols and other documentation. Maintains documentation required to ensure State and NRB regulatory compliance.
Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine. Minimum requirements: Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences; B.S. preferred.
Licensure in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the State of Maine required and registered or registry eligible as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the A.R.R.T. or N.M.T.C.B
