JOB SUMMARY:
Play a key role in integrating a new business opportunity into existing IDEXX LOB s and functional areas. Product responsibilities, including strategy, planning, product definition and financial return for product areas. Maximize IDEXX return from biomedical research markets by leading product development process, if applicable, including market segmentation, definition, development, launch, maintenance and obsolescence.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define, document and implement processes to release current products into new market segments
Define customer expectations and service levels for customer support and FTS
Lead requirement meetings to further develop IDEXX products and services
Work collaboratively across multiple IDEXX LOBs
Expert knowledge on the business and application of the product worldwide.
Ensure sales training is first class
Develop and implement market segmentation strategy with marketing managers to clearly define customer s current requirements and their future needs.
Drive product marketing activities: identify and select marketing opportunities, and develop communication strategies.
Determine, communicate and counteract competitive strategies and offerings.
Determine product development strategy
Lead development activities through all phases.
Manage alliances and collaboration with partners and key vendors to leverage IDEXX value to customers.
Promote and train IDEXX employees in product advantages and benefits.
Ensure optimum marketing resource utilization and communication across the division and corporation.
Optimize strategy, systems, structure, measures, rewards and culture for customer satisfaction and business results through continuous improvement.
Manage business as a set of interconnected processes that are clearly identified, documented, measured and continuously improved.
Broaden technical and practical knowledge of marketing.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Bachelor s degree (science or engineering preferred)
Advanced Degree (technology or business preferred)
Science background preferred
EXPERIENCE:
5 - 7 plus years relevant work experience
3 plus years product marketing experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Broad range of core marketing and product management skills
Strong analytical abilities and excellent problem solving capabilities
Financial management, analysis skills and conceptual thinking skills are a must, as well as the ability to make decisions
Must be capable of leading cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
Demonstrated ability to successful function in a complex organization
Exceptional written and oral communication skills required to gain commitment and support for decisions and motivate the organization to support
Must be a self-starter, capable of managing and prioritizing a large number of projects and tasks at various stages of development
Comfortable with healthcare/diagnostic technologies and plus
Demonstrated marketing and product management skills
