About the Business Line Water We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
Job Description AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer, specializing in hydrology and hydraulics in our South Portland, Maine office. This person will provide senior technical support to junior staff and manage water resources, water supply and treatment, and wastewater projects. Candidates will be individuals with a significant background in hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, and sediment transport. Specific experience with dams and/or hydro-electric facilities, flow frequency analysis and statistics, and coastal hydraulics is a plus. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience with the federal highway bridge scour program, and hydropower projects in New England. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects and developing new business. The chosen candidate must be self directed and capable of growing the water resources practice in Maine and New England. In addition to performing regular client interaction and business development activities, daily work will also include defining scopes of work and cost estimates, delegating work tasks and schedules to junior staff members, monitoring project status, providing QA/QC and managing client relations

Minimum requirements include:

* 10-15 years of experience in water resources engineering

* Masters in Water Resources or Civil Engineering or related field preferred, with demonstrated technical background in numerical hydraulic modeling

* Maine PE license preferred

* Experience with hydrologic modeling (e.g. HEC-HMS), open channel hydraulics (i.e. HEC-RAS, Mike11, etc), collection system modeling (i.e. EPA-SWMM, InfoWorks, etc), distribution system modeling (e.g. EPANET), 2D/3D hydraulic/water-quality/sediment-transport modeling (i.e. TABS, MIKE21, Mike3, EFDC, Tuflow, Flo-2D, etc) and CFD (Fluent or Flow3D),

* Familiarity with the requirements of the federal bridge scour program as they relate to New England states

* Familiarity with permitting requirements and water resource assessments for dam and hydropower facilities

Exemplary written and verbal communication and business development skills

* A strong work ethic, proven leadership skills, and willingness to work in a team-based work environment
