Responsibilities
Support the planning and execution of new start up projects. Candidate will possess prior engineering and/or construction process knowledge/experience necessary to perform the following:
1. Support the identification of technical requirements for new or existing projects.
2. Provide technical interface with customer and supporting organizations.
3. Coordinate all Alion technical activity supporting the project.
4. Review project deliverables for technical content and completeness.
5. Generate regular project engineering status reports.
6. Identify technical issues and support technical resolution of same to meet project requirements and budget.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience. Degree must be in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related discipline.
In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 7 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Demonstrated command of engineering principles, methods, and techniques in area of expertise. Advanced knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software. Effective customer and organizational level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in engineering, design, production support or production roles, equivalent technical experience, prior military service or college degree in a related field. Occasional travel and off site support will be required. Candidate must have good written and oral presentation skills. Job includes review of technical scopes and interfacing with the customer. Candidate must have prior marine engineering system design experience. Need basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint with Microsoft Access capability a plus.
Prior CAD experience in structure or outfitting systems is desirable. Prior project engineering experience is a plus. Prior military experience, shipyard apprentice graduate or college degree in a related engineering field may be substituted for the years of experience requirement.
Eligibility for Secret security clearance is required.
