The Design Center is located in Portland, Maine, one of the most liveable cities in the US. AMEC offers the technical challenges of projects located throughout the US with the relaxed environment of a small, vibrant city. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning and executing geotechnical explorations and provide oversight of geotechnical investigations including directing drilling subcontractors. Will travel in the New England area and occasionally to areas in the US outside the New England area. Approximately 50% travel. Prepare field reports and internal correspondence. Review and compile field and laboratory data and conduct engineering analyses for environmental and construction projects. Prepare proposals and geotechnical reports with supervision. Additional responsibilities include soil and groundwater sampling. Basic/Required Qualifications BS in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus. 0 to 1+ years related engineering experience. E.I.T. (FE/EI) certificate or ability to obtain with six months. Excellent writing and communication skills. Willingness to travel in the New England area and occasionally to areas in the US outside the New England area. Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
