Purpose of the Position/Job Summary: Bowdoin College has three entry level cooking position available in our Thorne, Moulton and Smith dining facilities. The Cook III support cooks and chefs by providing daily food preparation and work environment sanitation. Responsibilities include: preparing ingredients for use in recipes for both hot and cold food production; covering Production Assistant and Dining Aide duties during staffing shortages; assisting with catering function set-ups; and operating cold food prep and short-order cooking equipment.

Education/Skills Requirements: A high School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. Applicants must possess demonstrated reliability and the ability to work quickly and efficiently. Must demonstrate good hygiene practices and be able to work independently in a team environment.
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents: A minimum of one year's experience in cooking and kitchen production is required. A valid Driver's License with the ability to meet the eligibility requirements of the College's current Motor Vehicle Use Policy is preferred.

This position is subject to a criminal history background check and pre-placement physical.

Hours can include frequent overtime, weekends, holidays and during weather emergencies. Required to work during major college events.and weekends.
