Purpose of the Position/Job Summary: Bowdoin College invites applications for a casual (temporary, non-benefits-eligible) Organic Garden Assistant to work with Garden Manager in the activities of harvest season, including harvesting, cleaning and delivering produce to kitchens, watering, hoeing,shoveling, laying down row cover, weeding, transplanting, cleaning tools and equipment, and any other activities required to harvest and close the gardens for the season. Work locations include the Bowdoin gardens at Pleasant Hill Road, South Street and Wolfe's Neck Farm.
Education/Skills Requirements: Applicants must possess the ability to quickly understand verbal and/or written directions and follow them with minimal oversight; flexibility, patience, an able body, and lots of energy; and the ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents: No prior gardening knowledge or experience is necessary, though preference will be given to applicants who have some gardening experience.

This position is subject to a pre-placement physical and criminal history background check.
